Chinese Internet

The Chinese government has blocked Internet access to various
websites. One of those is my blog. Probably because of all the nasty
things I said when trying to get my visa. So the only way to update
it is through email. But it is cumbersome. So if this post works
someone please email me a verification and I will try to keep the
Beijing updates coming.

Visited the Great Wall yesterday. All I can say is WOW!

Mark from China out.

Rain and such

I have heard the word of the people about the recent blog layout change. I will be changing it back to its original format soon.

That being said it sure feels like Oregon today.

However I hear the snow has chosen to hold on a little longer there.

It's Friday in Korea and we are preparing for our trip to Beijing. Flight leaves at noon on Saturday the 24th Korean time. As soon as school is done today we will be busy getting things packed.

More kids

No school today for the elementary school since it is conferences and no Kids Club.  Most of the boys are going to a birthday party at 11:30 but until then.... it's me and four of them.  With two more on the way.
So why did I make them pancakes?  Thought it was a good idea at the time but forgot about the sugar.  Opps.

Then the other two arrived.  We made it about 30 minutes before the house was destroyed.  How do you convince them to clean up????  Promise of a movie always works.

Bike Day

Last Friday there was a huge event at the Chadwick International where 1200 international teachers from all over Korea were visiting the school.  While the adults were working the kids were playing.

Grant, and the rest of his buds whom have parents that work for the school, all got together at Kid's Club.  This was a special Kid's Club because our buddy John put on a bicycle training class.  They got to do some really cool stuff.  The club coordinator, Cathy West, put together a great video.  Follow this link and see the Dude in action.

Therapy

My new therapist is great. She is a little Korean lady with pointy fingers. The only English she seems to know is the word PAIN, in the form of a question. But the work she is doing on the shoulder is making a big difference. I think I'm much taller than most of their clients.
Short bed, long legs.

Vacation

Spring break begins Saturday March 24th so we are less than 2 weeks away from our trip to Beijing China with our fellow international teaching family the Arnolds. We haven't seen them Since they departed for Singapore the first week of July. We are very excited to see them.

The only hurdle now is the Chinese visas.

Kelly and Grant got theirs this week. Hope mine makes it on time.

A day at the park

Grant, Watson and I took advantage of the sun. Called some friends, grabbed the bikes and headed to the park.

Kelly headed to Seoul with Jessica for some shopping. Grant and I decided kites and bikes were better.

Early bird

I woke to an unusual sound this morning. The shower down the hall was on and the clock said 5:45. Kelly's alarm had just gone off. Turns out Grant has decided if he gets up early and ready for school he can have free time to finish Avatar. Yes we decided he could watch it with us. The plan was to ride bikes to school today. I'm thinking he was ready to go.

Yesterday was World Read Aloud day. I read my favorite book to three different classes

And Kelly's class all got to wear their PJs.
