Soccer
What a cool Memorial day/Budda's birthday. One of the Chadwick parents is the president of a large sporting company that sponsors the Seoul soccer team. He invited all that want to come to a pro soccer game at the Sangnam World cup stadium. We all had sky no seats. Very cool.

Go ducks....????
To all our Beaver friends and family out there, I apologize. I know that officially we should have WOU support and all, but seriously?!?!? Go wolves? I don't think so....
So after a quick trip home recently, I brought back a small piece of Oregon pride to slap on the back of "Mater" (it's what we have named our car) as we drive around Korea.
Grant will tell you that he is a duck, but I think that is only because he is still in love with the one and only Katie. He wears his duck shirt proudly around town. Mark dons his as well since his BFF Colin gave him one.
And now....since we have an O on our car, I think we are officially considered fans. Oh god. Please tell me they have swimming scholarships.....

Beautiful day in Central Park
The weather has finally warmed up to a nice 26-28 (that's celsius Todd...) and it's wonderful to be outside. We headed to Songdo's Central Park for a little water sports.
We weren't the only ones enjoying the sunshine so there was a bit of a wait. We finally got our gear and after some directions....."no capsize" we were off. Hopefully the Koreans get more of a detailed instruction process! (-:
The canal runs throughout the entire park and we enjoyed the canoe for an hour. What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

Awesome Field Trip
I went with Grant's class to one of the KIA plants here in Korea. Who knew KIA began in 1944? Not I.
After the presentation we got to tour the manufacturing plant. No cameras were allowed due to corporate espionage. They even needed our passport numbers for the adults.
The cars we saw in production were the Rio, Carnival and the K9. It was incredible. Out of the 6300 workers there the average employee age was 43 and average time working at this plant was 21 years. They must know how to treat their employees.
Like any other K9. They are full of surprises.
I just like that it is black and called the K9. Black dogs are best. (Barak, Watson, Alex and Enzo)
After the tour we even all got cool souvenirs.
Grant was looking at the picture not the camera apparently.

Boys night
While mom is away Grant and Dad will play. It's our first weekend with no Mom and we got a bunch of chores done, ran some errands and the. Hit the town for a new first in Korea. The movie theater.
All the posters are in Korean of course so we just got tickets for whatever was playing when we got there. Not sure of the title, but it was in 3D. 😝

A recap
Outdoor Ed trip went very well. The kids impressed me daily with what they were learning. I was up at 5:15 and in bed by 22:30 (10:30pm for those non military timers). Cooking and prepping three meals a day for 87 people was a whole new experience. Im still recovering. I couldn't have done it without my right hand lady Young.
Home made kimchi pancakes. Mmmm
Kids upon arrival getting their intro speech from Jessica.
Hike up the creek.
Crazy chefs cutting kimchi.
Budae jegae. (bean soup or army stew)
Budae jegae in its prime. Served with a cup of rice the kids were in heaven. It tasted way better than it looked.
Closing day circle
What we camped next to.
It made me miss the NW.
