Fingers crossed

No Ayi this weekend and I'm being lazy. So it is my first attempt at the fancy (not even close) dishwasher.

All is loaded

Now what buttons do we push?

Wish me luck. It is making noise now so we will see what happens.

A new page to check out

China is all about websites even though the firewall is strict. Shanghai America School really does the whole website thing when it comes to blogs. No safety and security blog but follow this link and I bet you find a Grant Hevland blog.

Trip to the Bund

Friday night, didn't get paid, but we headed out for our first trip to see the Bund. We joined some friends for dinner at the Super Brand Mall and then walked down to the river where we had a view of the Bund with all the night lights. Pretty damn impressive.

Dude update

Congratulations to Grant. After two days of swim team tryouts he has made the SAS Aqua Eagles swim team.

For updated info on the swim team, check out their blog. Apparently everything is about blogs here.

Morning commute

What a beautiful morning it is today in Shanghai. AQI (air quality index) is at 27, which is fantastic and I'm on the 1 hour and 15 min morning bus ride to the Puxi campus. I couldn't pass up a chance to capture downtown as we hit the bridge heading from east to west Shanghai.

They call the building with the sun reflecting off it in picture two the bottle opener. If you look close at the top of it in pic three you can see why.

The building under construction they call the cork screw. It is the tallest building in China and second tallest in the world.

China here we are

Hello all, we have arrived in Shanghai safe and sound. I will keep this brief as the first post from China. We arrived July 29th and hit the ground running. I was at work for 11 days straight.

Tomorrow, the 13th is the first official day of school. Kelly in second grade and Grant heading to fifth. Me, working my bee hind off. Going between two campuses and up and down three flights of stairs quite often. (One of my two offices is on the third floor)

Internet guy arrived after school today and got the wifi up and running so here are a couple of photos.
